Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Senior Program Manager, Development Testing Operations (Release Testing) to own release test procedures and drive operational excellence in how tests are executed. This hands-on role emphasizes process rigor, repeatability, and continuous improvement to ensure software releases are truly ready before go/no-go decisions.

You will partner with Engineering, Safety, and Release Management to gate software releases, triage failures, and drive test coverage across the release

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Program Management or related roles in tech.
• Own or improve test procedures, QA processes, or release gates.
• Understand software release movement through a testing pipeline.
• Drive process improvement within a cross-functional org.
• Strong organizational and multi-cycle testing management.
• Clear written and verbal communication for stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Comfort in safety- and quality-critical environments.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation.
• Adapt to a fast-paced, evolving release schedule.

Responsibilities

• Own release test procedures and maintain test plans and SOPs.
• Communicate release timelines with engineering and operations.
• Define pass/fail criteria and audit test runs for consistency.
• Triage test failures into actionable engineering tickets.
• Provide status and risk updates to leadership on testing progress.
• Bridge gaps across test types and improve coverage.
• Lead continuous improvements to testing scope and cycle time.
