Job summary

Aurora is hiring a Staff Technical Program Manager (Release Management) in Mountain View, CA to lead end-to-end release operations across software and vehicle platforms. You will drive cadence, triage, and hotfix deployments while coordinating with engineering, safety, hardware, and test teams to ensure safe, scalable releases.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on release experience in engineering environments.
• Experience with safety-critical standards (ISO 26262, DO-178C, or ISO 13485) in automotive/aerospace/robotics.
• Hands-on CI/CD with Buildkite or GitHub Actions and monorepo builds (Bazel).
• Orchestrating concurrent release branches, daily triage, and hotfix deployments across diverse teams.
• Collaborative governance across engineering, safety, hardware, and test operations teams.
• Willingness to provide evening or weekend coverage for high-priority releases.
• Ability to travel to Mountain View, CA, and to Texas or Pittsburgh as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day release operations and cadence: end-to-end release cycle, schedules, branch cut-offs, triage, hotfix deployments.
• Drive cross-functional release readiness communications and dashboards across engineering, safety, hardware, and test ops.
• Shift operations toward predictive prevention by automating release workflows and using AI/ML for triage and anomaly detection.
• Establish automated Release Gates to assemble compliance evidence and ensure safety standards before release.
• Govern high-scale branching and change control across multiple customers and hardware configurations.
• Maintain safety-first rigor with auditable release documentation and version control.
