Job summary

Qualus Corporation is hiring experienced Relay Testing Professionals in Field Engineering (Level III, Senior, Lead) to commission and test protection and control schemes for substations and plants. You will work with IEDs, SCADA, and IEC-61850 interfaces, mentoring junior staff and ensuring safety and reliability on customer sites.

The role involves end-to-end testing, hands-on diagnostics with devices such as Doble 6150, Omicron, and Manta, and frequent travel to client locations across the US.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Associate degree holders or equivalent tech training may be technicians.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field may be Engineers.
• Experience reading One Line and wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC).
• Performs end-to-end testing of protection and control schemes.
• Tests IEDs manually and with automated test sets.
• Identify risks and develop test plans and risk assessments.
• Lead tasks within a project or provide technical leadership.
• Perform weekly site safety inspections.
