Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals (Level III, Senior, Lead) for field engineering roles in the United States. You will commission and test protection & control schemes for substations and plants, including IEDs, RTUs, and IEC-61850 interfaces, with on-site mentoring of technicians and engineers.

Travel to client sites is required. The role emphasizes end-to-end testing, risk assessments, and adherence to safety and client policies, with strong opportunities for career

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Associate degree holders and candidates with equivalent technical training may be classified as Technicians.
• Experience reading One Line, AC/DC Elementary and Wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents throughout the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, BOM).
• Performs End-To-End testing.
• Performs IED testing, manually and with automated test sets (Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta).
• Identifies risks associated with testing and commissioning those schemes.
• Develops test plans, risk assessments, and practical application of protection and control systems.
• Leads people and tasks within a project or provides technical leadership.
• Performs weekly site safety inspections.
• Supports company and customer policies.
