Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals to join the Field Engineering team in the United States. You will commission and test protection and control schemes for substations and plants, including IEDs, with travel to client sites.

The role emphasizes technical excellence and mentoring, performing end-to-end testing of protection, SCADA systems, and IED integrations using devices like Doble 6150, Omicron, and Manta, while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent
• Experience in reading One Line, AC & DC Elementary and Wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site work.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading/writing) for safety materials and client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, BOM).
• Performs End-To-End testing.
• Performs IED testing with test sets for protection and control schemes.
• Identifies risks in testing and commissioning of schemes and systems.
• Develops test plans, risk assessments, and practical protections/control concepts.
• Analyzes scope and drawings to create functional guidelines and risk assessments.
• Leads tasks within a project and provides technical leadership.
• Performs weekly site safety inspections.
• Supports company and client policies and procedures.
