Job summary

Qualus is seeking experienced Relay Testing Professionals at Level III, Senior, and Lead levels to commission and test protection and control schemes for electric utility assets. The role involves field testing with IEDs, DFRs, and related media, with travel across client sites in the US.

Candidates should have 5+ years in relay testing with strong knowledge of protective equipment and safety protocols. A mix of engineering and military-trained candidates may qualify through equivalent training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations.
• Experience with volt-ohm-meter and hand tools.
• Ability to read One Line and wiring diagrams.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• English communication proficiency for safety-related materials.

Responsibilities

• Red-lines design documents across the drawing set (Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, BOM).
• Performs End-To-End testing.
• Performs IED testing manually and with automated test sets (Doble 6150, Omicron, Manta).
• Identifies risks related to testing and commissioning.
• Develops test plans and risk assessments for protection and control systems.
• Leads tasks within projects or provides technical/people leadership.
