Asplundh Electrical Testing is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to ensure safe, reliable operation of medium- and high-voltage substations through advanced protective relay testing, commissioning, and maintenance. You will lead field activities, mentor technicians, and coordinate with utility customers on protection schemes and energization.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, NETA certification, and ability to travel regionally for outage work.

Formación

• 5+ years hands-on protective relaying experience for utility substations.
• Experience testing 5kV–500kV protection systems.
• Ability to interpret protection diagrams and AC/DC schematics.
• Strong understanding of safety rules and energized work practices.

Responsabilidades

• Lead safety briefings and field culture.
• Perform protective relay testing, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning on medium- and high-voltage systems.
• Test and validate transmission and distribution protection schemes (distance, differential, overcurrent, breaker failure, bus protection).
• Verify control/protection circuits for transformers, breakers, feeders, capacitor banks.
• mentoring onsite technicians and coordinating with project managers and customers.
• Create and maintain accurate test reports and field documentation.
• Participate in job walks, project estimating, and customer technical discussions.
