Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to lead testing, installation, and troubleshooting of protective relays in power substations across Texas project sites. This role requires hands-on relay work, safety leadership, and travel readiness for multi-site assignments.

Qualifications

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen due to safety sensitive position.
• Criminal background check required.
• Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record.
• Hands on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution level substations.
• Capable of trouble shooting distribution and transmission controls circuits.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings on job site and mitigate hazards.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and system components.
• Test, install, commission, and perform functional testing of substation control circuits.
• Lead project execution, commissioning, outage sequence and energization procedures.
• Coach Relay Technician I/II and Relay Engineer I.
• Interact with customers and perform complex troubleshooting.
• Read protection/control diagrams and ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide final deliverables including as-built prints and all test results.
