Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to lead protection and control system testing, commissioning, and project execution. You will drive advanced testing, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage field teams to ensure reliable substation and industrial operations.

The role emphasizes customer interface, technical leadership, and safety, with travel to project sites and collaboration across utilities and clients.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in substations.
• Ability to troubleshoot distribution and transmission controls circuits.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and other components; perform commissioning and testing.
• Read, interpret, and validate protection schematics and system configurations.
• Develop project execution plans, outage sequences, and energization plans.
• Coordinate resources, schedules, and field activities for large-scale projects.
• Prepare comprehensive test results, relay settings verification, and commissioning documentation.
• Mentor Relay Technician I, II, and junior engineers; interface with customers and stakeholders.
