Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) seeks a Senior Relay Technician to lead protection and control testing for substation projects. You will perform advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ensure safe, reliable operation of industrial and utility systems.

The role combines field leadership with customer interaction, project planning, and mentoring junior technicians while maintaining safety and industry standards. Travel and overtime are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, testing, and repairing protective relays in substations.
• Ability to analyze protection schemes for power circuits and control systems.
• Experience leading field teams and coordinating project activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety briefings and enforce safety policies on job sites.
• Analyze protection schemes and perform commissioning, testing, and verification of relay panels.
• Perform complex troubleshooting of protection, control, and communication systems.
• Develop project execution plans, outage sequences, and energization plans.
• Prepare comprehensive test reports, as-built drawings, and documentation.
