Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician to serve as technical lead for protection and control systems. You will manage advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and full project execution on substation and industrial systems, emphasizing safety, reliability, and client interaction.

The role requires deep expertise in protection schemes, project leadership, and mentoring field personnel while ensuring high-quality documentation and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience installing, maintaining, testing, or repairing protective relays in substations.
  • Ability to work overtime and travel for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Background check clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
  • Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot substation relays and control circuits.
  • Perform end-to-end and functional testing with relay test equipment.
  • Analyze protection schemes and ensure relay calibration.
  • Develop project execution and energization plans.
  • Mentor Relay Technicians and interface with customers and stakeholders.
  • Prepare comprehensive test reports and as-built documentation.
