Job summary

Electric Power Systems seeks a Senior Relay Technician to lead protection and control work on substation and industrial systems. You will supervise field teams, perform advanced testing, and drive project execution while maintaining the highest safety standards.

You will install, commission, test, and validate relay circuits on panels, transformers, and breakers, and you will mentor junior staff and interface with customers to ensure expectations are met.

Qualifications

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Able to work overtime and travel for periods of time.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in substations.
• Knowledge of relay test software.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in electrical/electronic technology or four-year engineering degree preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection and control testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project execution for substation systems.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and functional testing of relay panels, transformers, and breakers.
• Develop and execute commissioning procedures, outage sequences, and energization plans.
• Interface with customers and project stakeholders to communicate status and resolve issues.
• Mentor Relay Technician I/II and junior engineers in protection and control practices.
• Ensure safety compliance and thorough documentation of all deliverables.
