Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Senior Relay Technician to lead protection and control system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and project execution across substation and industrial environments. You will mentor field personnel, interface with utilities and customers, and ensure safe, reliable operation while delivering comprehensive reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution substations.
• Ability to read and interpret protection and control schematics and logic diagrams.
• Ability to travel and work overtime as required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies across field activities.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and other components; manage testing, commissioning and handover.
• Perform installation, commissioning, testing and functional testing of substation control circuits and relay panels.
• Execute advanced end-to-end and functional testing using relay test equipment and software.
• Read and validate protection and control schematics, and ensure proper calibration of relays.
• Provide mentorship and train Relay Technician I, II and junior engineers; interface with customers and stakeholders.
