Job summary

Pike Corporation seeks a Substation Relay Superintendent to lead protection and control efforts across transmission and distribution networks. You will oversee technicians, coordinate maintenance, testing, and commissioning of relays, SCADA, RTUs, and substation automation while ensuring compliance with NERC, FERC, OSHA, and company standards.

You will travel to multiple job sites, guide teams, and support asset management and modernization projects in a safety-first environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, or related field is required.
• Willingness to travel long distances and work outside normal hours, including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise Technicians and contractors with safety first.
• Develop work schedules, staffing plans, and allocate resources.
• Provide coaching, technical guidance, and performance management.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead emergency response efforts related to relay and substation equipment failures.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protective relays and substation systems.
• Review protection schemes and ensure proper operation of protection systems.
• Manage relay event analysis, fault investigations, and maintenance programs.
• Maintain testing records and support asset management and capital plans.
