Job summary

Qualus seeks a Lead Relay Field Engineer to drive commissioning, calibration, installation, maintenance and repair of protective relays and related equipment for the electric grid. You will lead field teams, interpret substation drawings, and ensure safe, reliable operation of complex protection and SCADA systems.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of field experience, strong communication, safety discipline, and mentoring skills, with ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree and proficiency

Qualifications

ABET-accredited B.E./B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years field experience in commissioning, panel checkout, relay calibration and repair.
Experience in substation protection, SCADA, and fault data integration is desirable.
Three-phase power systems with protection and control schemes; use of test equipment.

Responsibilities

Plan commissioning and resource scheduling; provide team leadership for test activities.
Interpret substation drawings (single line, schematics, wiring diagrams).
Write procedures and test plans for maintenance and construction activities.
Test relays, metering, alarms, and SCADA; verify operation of protection systems.
