Job summary

Hylant in the United States seeks a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and reinsurer relationships. The role ensures compliance with policy guidelines and accurate financial reporting of premiums, claims, and reserves.

You will analyze contracts, settle claims efficiently, generate reports, and advise stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting, while seeking process improvements and maintaining up-to-date SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance or similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, primarily Excel, Outlook, Teams.
• Fluent in English and able to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts to ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines.
• Manage the processing and settlement of reinsurance claims, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate reinsurance reports and conduct analysis to support decision-making.
• Consult internal stakeholders on Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting expertise and guidance.
• Drive continuous process improvement and standardization; identify inefficiencies.
• Join relevant training sessions to maintain current knowledge of systems and processes.
• Keep SOP/training guides up to date in collaboration with Captive Account Executives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
