Job summary

Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and reinsurer relationships. The role ensures compliance with company policies, efficient claim settlements, and insightful reporting to inform decision-making.

The incumbent will collaborate with internal stakeholders, travel as needed, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining up-to-date SOPs and training materials for the captive accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance, or similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Strong ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• High attention to detail with a metrics-driven mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal English communication.
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel by car or airplane for meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claim and reserves based on statements or bordereaux.
• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts for policy adherence.
• Manage processing and settlement of reinsurance claims.
• Generate reinsurance reports and conduct analytical reviews.
• Consult internal stakeholders on Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting guidance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers.
• Drive continuous process improvement and standardization.
