Job summary

Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Regional Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to partner with a regional operations team and lead the implementation of WHS policies, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations.

You will build and mentor a team of safety professionals, perform risk assessments, and analyze safety data while driving continuous improvement using lean principles and kaizens across designated sites. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in safety/environmental programs with growing responsibilities.
• 7+ years in people and performance management.
• Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Office within designated region and willingness to relocate if needed.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME of local/regional regulations and company WHS policy.
• Provide guidance to ensure compliance with WHS policies.
• Measure regional performance and fix deficiencies.
• Ensure WHS recordkeeping and data integrity with accurate reporting.
• Deliver projects on time to Operations.
• Analyze WHS metrics and incident trends to justify resources.
• Audit WHS processes and global database entries for compliance.
• Mentor FC WHS Managers and Associates.
• Spend time at fulfillment centers to gather improvement opportunities.
• Lead safety initiatives to reduce soft tissue injuries via Kaizen events.
• Ensure training is delivered effectively and staff is competent.
• Review the effectiveness of WHS tools and revise as needed.
• Collaborate with corporate and regional WHS to adopt best practices.
