Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking an experienced Reinforcing-Steel Estimator/Detailer to serve as a technical resource across estimating, project management and operations. You will define standards, production rates and a cost database, while reviewing drawings and preparing estimates for major projects.

The ideal candidate has substantial hands-on experience with reinforcing steel in large industrial or infrastructure work and can develop reliable cost and risk assessments for bids.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of reinforcing-steel industry experience; 10+ years preferred.
• Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel for large projects.
• Experience detailing reinforcing steel or reviewing placing drawings.
• Knowledge of fabrication and field placement processes.
• Ability to review drawings for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Strong reading of structural drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, labor, and equipment estimates.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Analyze bar sizes, tonnage, spans, and embed requirements.
• Coordinate with estimating, project management, and field teams.
• Prepare conceptual to final estimates and bid strategies.
• Lead standardizing estimating procedures and templates.
• Mentor junior estimators and detailers as the dept grows.
• Oversee detailing reviews and RFIs related to reinforcing steel.
