B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a senior estimator for reinforcing steel to join our remote, full-time team. You will develop estimates, establish production-rate standards, and support preconstruction with cost databases, while collaborating with management and field staff.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in reinforcing steel, strong drawing-reading skills, and experience with AutoCAD or RebarCAD. You will mentor junior estimators and help scale the estimating department for large projects.

Formación

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry, preferably 10+ years.
• Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel.
• Significant experience detailing reinforcing steel or reviewing placing drawings.
• Experience on large commercial, industrial, wastewater, infrastructure or concrete-intensive projects.
• Experience estimating projects with substantial reinforcing-steel tonnage.
• Strong reading of structural drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of reinforcing-steel fabrication and field placement.
• Knowledge of ACI and CRSI requirements and industry practices.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, RebarCAD, aSa, Tekla, SDS/2 or similar software.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Effective communication with project managers, engineers, contractors and field personnel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop accurate estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor, equipment and freight.
• Set labor hours and production assumptions based on conditions.
• Analyze bar sizes, tonnage, congestion, couplers, dowels and other reinforcing requirements.
• Review plans for scope gaps, discrepancies and constructability concerns.
• Identify risks and potential cost exposures before bid submission.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management in bid strategy and selling price.
• Solicit and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing when required.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation.
