Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson seeks an experienced embedded software security engineer to support real-time missile software for deployed weapon systems. You will design, develop, and test embedded software in C/C++ across multiple platforms, collaborating with the Systems Security Engineering team to implement robust security features.

Role requires a STEM degree and 8+ years in software, with active U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of relevant software experience.
• Experience with C / C++.
• Experience with Xilinx UltaScale+ MPSoC, Versal, or similar embedded processors.
• Experience with embedded operating systems such as VxWorks, Embedded Linux, or similar.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret level U.S. security clearance prior to start, with program access after start.
• Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Apply understanding of real-time software design and performance impacts tied to System Security implementations.
• Participate in application and embedded software design, development, integration, and testing for real-time missile software.
• Use System Security principles to design and implement Missile software applications.
• Develop software applications in C and C++ across a variety of computing platforms.
• Assess how implementation details affect the overall missile system and develop or review source-level solutions.
• Collaborate with the Systems Security Engineering team to define and implement requirements.
• Work in a shared development environment to enable program teams to leverage specific capabilities.
• Interface with the customer community to review technical design and support verification of system maturity.
