Job summary

Hitachi Rail in the New York Area seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead multiple projects with responsibility for P&L and successful delivery. You will coordinate resources with the Project Portfolio Director, manage customer interfaces, and drive project execution through to contract closure.

The role requires 15 years in the industry, 5–10 years in PM with leadership, a degree in Engineering, CBTC knowledge, PMP/IPMA certification, and strong English.

Qualifications

• 15 years of experience in related industry or aerospace/technical field.
• 5–10 years of experience as a project manager with people management/leadership experience.
• University degree in Engineering (Electronic, Telecommunications, or Informatics) or equivalent experience.
• Strong CBTC railway signalling technical expertise; NY knowledge a plus.
• Previous experience leading international projects in a matrix environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to deliver under pressure.
• PMP or IPMA certification.
• Located in New York Area.
• Strong English skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project supervision and P&L for multiple projects.
• Coordinate resources and monitor performance across projects.
• Drive execution, control costs, schedule, quality, risks, and opportunities.
• Manage interfaces with key customers and ensure satisfaction.
• Implement EAC processes, forecasts, and risk management with PMO.
• Adhere to Group processes and monitor all work package activities.
• Foster continuous improvement and share lessons learned.
• Develop project skills and ensure team competency.
• Provide leadership and clear communication with senior management.
