Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to lead mega rail CBTC transformation programs in New York City. The role focuses on delivering on-time, on-budget results across multiple connected projects, with heavy interaction at executive levels.

Ideal candidates will have 25+ years in transit project delivery, advanced rail engineering SME knowledge, and proven success managing large program portfolios while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 25+ years of relevant experience in transit project delivery.
• Proven experience delivering public rail infrastructure projects with costs > $1 billion.
• Experience managing major transit programs with multiple connected projects through design and construction.
• Advanced SME-level knowledge of transit and rail engineering principles and permitting.
• Strong executive communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Must be able to work in the US and be in the NYC area five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a program director role on mega rail transportation project delivered via various delivery methods.
• Lead the delivery of multiple connected design-build CBTC transformation projects through design, construction and closeout.
• Manage the client’s commercial interests while driving on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Be familiar with NYCT or similar agency policies and procedures.
• Responsible for independent review of project progress.
• Perform schedule review and analysis.
• Provide solutions to project issues.
• Review and strategize improvements to key performance metrics.
• Support and empower staff to execute projects on time and budget.
• Develop and maintain Project Management Plans including controls, document control, risk, safety, quality, and environment.
