Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic Bid & Proposal Manager based in Pittsburgh, PA. The role entails leading the full bid lifecycle, coordinating engineering, sales, legal, finance, and operations to craft competitive proposals and win business.

Your experience in railway signaling, control systems, or rolling stock, plus strong negotiation and communication skills, will guide strategy and execution across domestic and international opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years experience in bid management, proposal management, or project management within railway/transportation or related complex systems.
• Experience leading large, winning bids or projects in the $50–$150M range.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to present to stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire bid lifecycle from qualification to contract award, including strategy development and proposal generation.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to define bid strategies, develop technical solutions, and prepare commercial proposals.
• Develop bid plans, schedules, and budgets ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Conduct risk assessments and create mitigation plans for bids.
• Mentor junior bid team members and present to internal and external stakeholders.
