Job summary

Hitachi Rail STS USA, INC. in Pittsburgh seeks an experienced Bid Manager to lead the entire bid lifecycle for railway and transportation projects. You will coordinate engineering, finance, legal, and sales teams to develop winning technical and commercial proposals.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years in bid or proposal management, a background in engineering or business, and strong presentation and negotiation skills. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–15 years of bid or proposal management experience in railway, transportation, or related complex systems.
• Proven track record of leading and winning large-scale bids ($50–$500M).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver proposals.
• Strong knowledge of railway signaling, control systems, or rolling stock is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the entire bid lifecycle from qualification to contract award.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop bid strategies and commercial proposals.
• Analyze customer requirements and RFPs to identify key success factors.
• Develop bid plans, schedules, and budgets for timely, cost-effective proposals.
• Mentor junior bid team members and improve bid processes.
