Job summary

Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong COTS computing and networking background to join our Hardware and Infrastructure team developing the next generation RADAR solutions.

The ideal candidate has a current Secret clearance, is highly technical, can work with minimal oversight, and can manage projects while liaising with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years
• Experience with Unix/Linux and lab test equipment
• Ability to design and verify a COTS-based hardware design and verify via test plans
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance
• Current Secret clearance preferred

Responsibilities

• Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems (e.g. X86-based processors)
• Research and select servers, workstations, and storage
• Engineer BIOS and OS configuration definitions
• Operate standard lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, emulators)
• Prototype and integrate systems in the lab
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, supply chain, field engineering, and customers
• Support occasional domestic and international travel
