Job summary

RTX seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Portsmouth, RI to join the Hardware and Infrastructure team, focusing on COTS computing and networking for next-generation RADAR solutions. The role requires a current Secret clearance, strong technical skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while handling projects.

You will bridge cross-functional teams, ensure on-time delivery, and contribute to safety-critical system development, with occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and at least 5 years in relevant work.
• Advanced degree preferred with 3+ years experience.
• Experience with Unix/Linux and hardware testing in lab.
• Ability to translate concepts into COTS hardware designs and tests.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems (e.g. X86-based processors).
• Research and select servers, workstations, add-in cards, storage and other COTS hardware.
• Engineer BIOS and operating system configuration definitions.
• Operate lab test equipment and perform prototyping and integration.
• Collaborate across hardware engineering, supply chain, field teams, and customers to deliver safety-critical systems.
• Support occasional domestic and potential international travel.
