Job summary

Raytheon in Massachusetts is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer for the Radar Digital Products Department to design and implement next‑gen radar systems using COTS computing and networking products. This 100% onsite role is located in Marlborough or Tewksbury, MA, and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret).

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of hardware/software experience including Unix/Linux.
• Experience developing and implementing computing, networking, and IT infrastructure.
• Experience taking a concept to a complete COTS-based hardware design and verification.
• Lab experience with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, emulators).
• Experience collaborating with hardware, supply chain, field engineering, and customers to deliver safety‑critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design COTS hardware infrastructure systems (e.g. X86 processors).
• Research and select servers, workstations, add‑in cards, storage, and other COTS hardware.
• Engineer BIOS and operating system configuration definitions.
• Work in a lab with standard test equipment and data capture tools.
• Collaborate with hardware, supply chain, field engineering, on-site installation and customers to deliver safety‑critical systems.
• Support travel domestically and internationally as needed.
