Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in San Diego, CA to support X-Band Radar technology. You will perform radar data analysis, systems integration, and contribute to test planning and execution within the SE&TC Surface Radars & Sensors Center.

The role requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, proficiency in MATLAB/Python/C/C++, and strong collaboration with software and hardware teams. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux, Unix or similar.
• Experience with systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation or testing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in integration and test planning/execution, verify/validate events, and perform scenario-based analysis.
• Conduct system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure requirements compliance.
• Execute integration plans and testing activities per milestones and schedules.
• Integrate and test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility for testing and data analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-program leads to generate test approaches and ensure readiness.
• Ensure test processes meet DoD release and export licensing policies.
• Travel 5–10% locally or non-locally, including experience with DoD/foreign military products.
