Job summary

RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Principal Systems Engineer for the Long Range Radars division in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on supporting X-Band radar tech through radar data analysis and systems integration across hardware/software domains.

The position requires strong MATLAB/Python/C/C++ skills, systems engineering experience, and a proven track record leading integration/test efforts. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux, Unix, and/or other programming languages.
• Experience in systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation and/or system testing.
• Experience leading integration/test efforts, including creating reports for internal/external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Participate in integration and test planning/execution, executing verification/validation events, and perform scenario-based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
• Complete system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
• Execute integration plans and testing activities according to defined tasks, milestones and schedules.
• Integrate and test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility for supporting integration, verification, test, and data analysis activities.
• Collaborate with cross-program leads/stakeholders to generate test approaches, ensure test-setup readiness, and participate in key processes.
