Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Long Range Radars team in San Diego, CA. You will support X-Band radar technology with radar data analysis and systems integration across software and hardware components.

The role emphasizes verification, validation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include test planning, performance assessments, and ensuring compliance with DoD release policies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux/Unix and scripting.
• Background in systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification, validation and testing.
• Experience with HWIL/test equipment and RF hardware configuration.
• Familiarity with agile/DevSecOps, JIRA, Confluence and backlog execution.

Responsibilities

• Participate in integration and test planning/execution and perform scenario-based analysis.
• Complete system performance assessments and validation testing per requirements.
• Execute integration plans and testing activities to milestones and schedules.
• Integrate and test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility.
• Collaborate with cross-program leads to generate test approaches and ensure readiness.
• Ensure testing procedures comply with DoD policies and licensing requirements.
• Willingness for 5–10% travel, domestic and international.
