Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, seeks a Principal Systems Engineer for the Long Range Radars department in San Diego, CA. You will support X-Band radar technology through data analysis, system integration, and testing with internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience and proficiency in MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and Linux. Travel up to 10% may be required as part of program activities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, Linux, Unix, or similar.
• Experience in systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration or verification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in integration and test planning/execution and perform scenario-based analysis.
• Complete system performance assessments and validation testing.
• Execute integration plans and testing activities per milestones and schedules.
• Integrate/test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility.
• Collaborate with cross-program leads to generate test approaches and ensure readiness.
• Ensure test processes comply with DoD release and export licensing policies.
• Willingness for 10% local and non-local travel, including domestic/foreign sales products.
