Job summary

RTX’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center in San Diego seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to support X-Band Radar data analysis and integration. You will collaborate with software and systems teams to drive milestones, deliver analyses, and present results to customers.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain it, with 8+ years in STEM-related systems work.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Linux/Unix.
• Experience in systems engineering, radar data analysis, integration, verification and testing.
• Proven leadership in integration/test efforts and stakeholder reporting.
• Preferred: String/HWIL test equipment, RF hardware setup, and DevSecOps tooling (JIRA/Confluence).

Responsibilities

• Participate in integration and test planning/execution and perform scenario-based analysis.
• Complete system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure requirements compliance.
• Execute integration plans and testing activities according to milestones.
• Integrate and test radar system software builds in a String/HWIL facility.
• Collaborate with cross-program leads to generate test approaches and readiness.
• Ensure procedures meet DoD licensing and export controls.
• Travel up to 10% locally or non-locally.
