Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a seasoned Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer to advance cryptographic modernization, PQC migration, and risk assessment across government-scale environments.

The role is 100% remote within the U.S. and requires 10+ years of IT/quantum experience, a Public Trust–Level 4 clearance, and a related bachelor’s degree. Travel may be required for collaborations and audits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience, 5+ years in quantum computing/cryptography at large org or government agency or equivalent.
• Master’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years of required experience
• Expertise in post-quantum cryptography and quantum-resistant algorithms
• Familiar with NIST PQC standards (FIPS 203, 204, 205) and related frameworks
• Experience communicating complex quantum risk to non-technical leadership
• U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Utilize Python, C++, and Java to implement and test cryptographic algorithms
• Advise on PQC migration plans and PQC implementation strategies
• Assess cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to leadership
• Provide policy inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with NIST PQC standards
