Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer for a 100% US-based remote role. The position requires extensive expertise in quantum mechanics, PQC, and cryptographic standards, with a Public Trust – Level 4 clearance. You will lead migration strategies and work with government-scale teams.

Responsibilities include implementing cryptographic algorithms in Python/C++/Java, advising on PQC adoption, and aligning modernization with NIST standards. U.S.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience with quantum computing and cryptography in large orgs.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, algorithms and information theory.
• Experience with quantum programming languages and frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, MS QDK).
• Expertise in post-quantum cryptography and PQC standards.
• Familiarity with cryptographic standards (NIST, ISO/IEC 19790).
• Experience with classical and quantum simulation tools.
• Project management experience in a large org or government agency.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Python, C++, and Java to implement and test cryptographic algorithms.
• Advise on migration plans for quantum-resistant algorithms and PQC implementation.
• Assess cryptographic inventory and identify migration priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate quantum risk to leadership.
• Provide policy inputs for cryptographic modernization aligned with PQC standards.
