Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a seasoned Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer to lead advanced cryptographic modernization efforts for a federal government client. The role is remote across the United States.

The position requires deep expertise in quantum computing, post-quantum cryptography, and cross-functional collaboration with government stakeholders. U.S. citizenship and a Public Trust clearance are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience with quantum computing and cryptography.
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, algorithms, and information theory.
• Experience with cryptographic standards (NIST/ISO).
• Understanding of project management in large orgs.

Responsibilities

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Advise on migration plans for quantum resistant algorithms (PQC).
• Assess cryptographic inventory and migration priorities.
• Communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
• Provide guidance for cryptographic modernization per NIST PQC standards.
