Job summary

Matrix Project Services, Houston, TX, seeks a Manager of Quality to plan, direct, and coordinate on-site QC functions, ensuring compliance with company, owner, and government requirements. This role approves work acceptance, conducts audits, and leads corrective actions across projects.

The position requires extensive QA/QC leadership, welding knowledge (SAW/SMAW/FCAW), and certifications. Travel to project sites is expected with per diem per policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 6+ years of QA/QC management experience.
• 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Current discipline-specific inspection certification preferred (e.g., AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, NACE).
• Experience in radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, and liquid penetrant testing desirable.
• Extensive field welding knowledge in SAW, SMAW, and FCAW.
• Thorough understanding of industry practices, codes and standards.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including inspection/testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, quality tools for problem solving.
• Creates inspection reports stating conditions of a work area and recommends corrective action.
• Applies knowledge of quality systems to validate contractually required standards for project execution; improves product safety and reliability.
• Maintains quality standards of products and materials entering work scope; aligns with product lines.
• Under general direction, accountable for performance and results of a related discipline or sub-group.
• Manages delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership to team members.
• Participates in development of functional strategy and may be responsible for global processes and procedures.
• Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and terminates subordinate personnel; sets goals and objectives.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
