Job summary

Matrix Service Company in Houston, TX seeks a Manager, Quality to plan, direct, and coordinate on-site QC functions ensuring compliance with company, owner, and government regulations. This role conducts internal/external audits and decides acceptance or rejection of work in process and completed activities.

The position requires extensive QA/QC management experience, strong leadership, and current NDE inspection credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• 6+ years related experience in QA/QC management.
• 2+ years’ experience in a leadership or management role.
• Current certification in a discipline specific inspection process (e.g. AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, NACE etc.) preferred.
• Previous experience in radiographic testing, magnetic particle testing, and liquid penetrant testing desirable.
• Must have extensive field welding knowledge, in the following weld processes (SAW, SMAW, and FCAW)
• Thorough understanding of industry practices, codes and standards.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, quality tools for problem solving.
• Creates inspection reports stating the conditions of a work area and makes recommendations for corrective action.
• Applies knowledge of quality systems and tools to validate and verify contractually required standards for project execution.
• Maintains quality standards of products and materials that go into work scope; aligns quality management with product lines.
• Under general direction, accountable for performance and results of a related discipline or sub-group.
• Manages delivery of functional objectives by providing leadership to team members.
• Participates in development of functional strategy and may be responsible for global processes and procedures.
• Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and terminates subordinate personnel; sets goals and directs execution.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.
