Job summary

House Rx is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (SDET) to own and advance automation that ensures well-tested software across our system. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and infra teams to promote sustainable testing practices and triage production issues with support teams.

You will write unit, API, and browser tests using Jest/Playwright in a Node.js/React environment, build robust test data, diagnose CI failures, and apply AI-assisted development with careful validation.

Qualifications

• Senior-level ownership of test automation or software engineering work.
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React applications.
• Experience with Jest, Playwright, or comparable test frameworks.
• Able to use SQL to investigate data issues and verify persisted behavior in PostgreSQL or a similar database.
• Demonstrated AI-assisted development experience and a clear approach to verifying generated work.
• Experience diagnosing CI and production issues using logs and tools such as Sentry or Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Own automation systems and QA work from kickoff through release and maintenance.
• Write unit, component, API, and browser tests, selecting the right layer for each risk.
• Build repeatable fixtures and test data to verify workflow behavior and data integrity.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers on testability and acceptance criteria.
• Diagnose CI failures, improve flaky tests, and report coverage and risk.
• Leverage AI-assisted development to accelerate work while validating outputs.
• Monitor system health and convert production issues into regression coverage.
