Job summary

House Rx, Inc. is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (SDET) to own automated testing for our software platform. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to implement sustainable testing practices and triage production issues when needed.

You’ll write unit, API, and browser tests using modern frameworks, build repeatable fixtures, and ensure data integrity across workflows. This remote-first role emphasizes ownership, clear communication, and rigorous quality.

Qualifications

• Senior ownership of test automation or related software engineering work.
• Experience with modern front-end tech: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React.
• Familiar with Jest, Playwright or equivalent frameworks.
• Able to use SQL to investigate data issues and verify persisted behavior in PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AI-assisted development and validating generated code.
• Ability to diagnose CI and production issues using logs and tools like Sentry or Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Own automation systems from kickoff through release, maintenance, and improvement.
• Write unit, component, API, and browser tests selecting appropriate layers for risk.
• Build fixtures and test data to verify workflow behavior and data integrity.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers on testability and acceptance criteria.
• Diagnose CI failures, improve flaky tests, report coverage and risk clearly.
• Leverage AI-assisted development while independently validating generated code and assertions.
• Monitor system health and turn production issues into regression coverage.
