Housecall Pro is seeking a Staff QA Engineer I to lead AI-adoption in testing, design robust automated and AI-assisted test strategies, and mentor engineers. You will collaborate with ML Ops, Platform, Product, and Engineering to ensure high-quality software for home service professionals worldwide.

The role emphasizes building scalable QA practices, evaluating new AI testing technologies, and guiding teams on safe AI deployment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in quality assurance engineering
• Proficiency in automated testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Gitlab, CircleCI)
• Operationalizing AI-assisted and agentic testing workflows
• Hands-on AI-assisted testing and MCP-based test generation/execution (Maestro MCP, Playwright MCP)
• Experience with bug tracking/test management tools (JIRA, TestRail)
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent
• Proven experience driving team efficiency via AI tools and automation

Responsibilities

• Lead AI adoption and operationalization across the squad
• Define standards for safe, reliable use of AI within test pipelines
• Design and govern agentic testing workflows across teams
• Evaluate AI testing technologies and perform root-cause analysis
• Partner with MLOps, platform, Product, and Engineering teams for standards and baselines
• Design test strategies and machine-readable test cases for AI-assisted tests
• Establish and improve QA methodologies and automated testing frameworks
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to refine requirements and coverage
• Mentor QA and engineering in advanced testing techniques
• Communicate insights and risks to leadership and stakeholders
