Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom in Addison, IL is seeking a QA Electrical Inspector to inspect and test low-voltage panelboards, switchboards, and medium-voltage switchgear. You will review drawings, verify wiring, and conduct functional and insulation tests to ensure quality and safety.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of electrical inspection or testing experience, knowledge of NFPA 70E, and the ability to interpret complex drawings.

Qualifications

• Five years of electrical inspection or testing experience; electrical distribution equipment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and safe high-voltage testing practices.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, and point-to-point diagrams.
• Knowledge of wiring practices and workmanship standards.
• Familiarity with UL 67, UL 891, UL 1558, IEEE C37.20.2, and IEEE C37.20.3 preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Review electrical drawings and design specifications.
• Inspect electronic assembly components and control wiring, including point-to-point and wire-label accuracy.
• Perform functional and insulation tests, including Hi-Pot and Megger testing.
• Maintain and calibrate electrical test equipment; recommend equipment improvements.
• Troubleshoot defects, participate in root-cause problem solving, and implement prevention countermeasures.
• Follow and communicate electrical safety standards.
• Document inspection and test results.
