Fieldguide is hiring a Software Engineer, Quality & Automation in the United States (Remote). The role focuses on owning quality and automation for large enterprise deployments, building an agent-first QA function, and integrating with customer processes to ensure reliable bug reporting and fixes.

You'll drive environments parity, automate bug handling, and improve CI/testing coverage across SaaS and PaaS, collaborating with engineering, PM, and support teams.

• Strong production software engineering experience — you write and ship code.

Aufgaben

• Keep environments consistent across SaaS and PaaS deployments to ensure consistent customer experience and avoid drift.
• Build automation capacity for handling bugs using agentic tooling including triage, reproduction, and routing that runs without a human in the middle.
• Use agentic tools to resolve bugs yourself, shipping fixes rather than filing tickets.
• Run bug bashes on new features before release and make the practice repeatable across teams.
• Own bug reporting and communication: tracking severity, hotspots, and trends to inform leadership and customers.
• Work closely with customers to integrate processes and improve how issues are reported and fixed.
• Improve internal automated testing: maximize coverage where it matters and reduce flakes.
• Close the loop from customer-reported issues back to tests or environment checks to prevent regressions.
• Support evaluation efforts by creating and curating datasets for agent quality.
