Job summary

Fieldguide is hiring a software engineer to own quality engineering and automation for enterprise SaaS and PaaS deployments. The role combines hands-on production coding, automated testing, CI quality gates, environment-parity work, and direct collaboration with enterprise customers.

A major focus is building agentic workflows that triage, reproduce, route, and help resolve defects with minimal manual intervention.

Qualifications

Strong production software engineering experience.
Hands-on experience building test automation and CI quality gates that engineers actually rely on.
Real use of AI or agentic tooling as part of how you work.
Experience working directly with customers or enterprise users on issues they care about.

Responsibilities

Keep environments consistent across SaaS and PaaS deployments.
Build automation capacity for bug handling with agentic tooling.
Resolve bugs by shipping fixes, not just filing tickets.
Run bug bashes on new features and promote repeatability.
Own bug reporting trends and communicate quality trajectories to leadership and customers.
Collaborate with customers to integrate reporting, fixes validation, and readiness for release.
Improve internal automated testing coverage and reduce flaky signals.
Close the loop from customer issues to tests or environment checks.
Support evaluation efforts by curating datasets for agent quality.
