Job summary

Coherent Solutions, Inc. is seeking a backend engineer to own and evolve high-scale Python services in a fully remote setting. You will design distributed systems, manage APIs, data pipelines, and ensure low latency for millions of users.

The role requires Django/FastAPI, asyncio, Kafka experience, and strong Cloud and SQL skills, with collaboration across product and DevOps in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 4 years of Python backend development experience.
• Solid experience with Django/FastAPI and asyncio.
• Production experience with Apache Kafka.
• Strong experience with distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience deploying containerized apps with Docker.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and SQL databases.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus/Grafana).
• Strong problem-solving skills and code reviews experience.
• Comfortable working in Agile teams.
• English level: B2 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of backend services from design to deployment and maintenance.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance distributed backend services using Python and Django.
• Architect distributed systems to support millions of users with low latency and high availability.
• Own APIs, data pipelines, message brokers like Kafka, and caching layers.
• Optimize systems for throughput, latency, fault tolerance, and resilience.
• Implement robust testing strategies (unit, integration, performance).
• Drive observability with monitoring and logging improvements.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps to ship features on tight timelines.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and architecture discussions.
