Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer in the Public Sector segment to lead technical discussions through the sales cycle and deliver tailored solutions. You will partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support to train customers, document solutions, and shape long-term technical strategy.

Travel 30-40% to meet prospects or attend events, with most work conducted remotely. You’ll be an advocate for on-prem and cloud integrations, comfortable with REST APIs and network security

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of OSI model layers 1-7, routing TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S).
• Comfort with on-prem networking and legacy infrastructure.
• Minimum 5 years in a customer-facing sales or consulting role.
• Interest in AI-driven capabilities and continual learning.

Responsibilities

• As critical members of Cloudflare’s Public Sector Sales team, Solutions Engineers drive technical discussions and implementations to help generate new business, expand existing business, and keep our customers happy.
• Qualification of prospect and customer use cases, technical requirements discovery, leading demonstrations, solution design, and PoCs.
• Advice on technical best practices, implementation of products, and strategic guidance for existing customers.
