PeaceHealth in Washington State is seeking a Provider Coding Specialist Lead for a full-time day position. The role oversees day-to-day coding operations, mentors staff, and ensures high-quality documentation and compliance across coding functions.

The position requires at least 5 years in provider coding and relevant credentials, with leadership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 and EHR systems is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Accredited coding program or equivalent education/experience to perform the job.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in provider coding, billing, charge capture or provider review/auditing.
• CPC/CCS-P/RHIT/RHIA/OCC/ CCS credentials required within 1 year.
• Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 and medical record documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assigns work, plans priorities, mentors staff, and ensures quality and timely outputs.
• Reviews CPT/ICD-10 coding and medical record documentation for accuracy before billing.
• Addresses denied claims and provides corrective recommendations.
• Assists providers and billing staff with coding questions.
• Explores coding/compliance issues using regulatory resources.
• Leads coding reviews and provider meetings using virtual or in-person formats.
• Facilitates coding huddles and prioritizes tasks with leadership.
• Participates in departmental meetings and projects as needed.
