Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on Protective Relaying for our Denver, CO office. Remote work from a mutually acceptable US location may be considered, with the opportunity to lead ESSP projects and coordinate with SCADA and protection teams.

The role involves design, analysis, and leadership across protection systems for substations, generation, renewables, and distribution, using tools like AcSELeratorQuickset and ETAP. PE preferred; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 12+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer executing Protective Relaying projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer and study protection systems for bulk power equipment including substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, industrial and distribution systems.
• Perform protection analyses: short circuit, time-current coordination, arc flash, and NERC compliance.
• Lead client projects, provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Support data acquisition with onsite visits when needed and discuss project specifics with clients at an appropriate technical level.
• Apply industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, NERC PRC) and work with software/hardware tools listed.
