Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Denver, CO to focus on Protective Relaying within the ESSP team. The role involves design, analysis, and mentoring, with potential remote work from within the United States.

You will tackle protection studies for substations, transmission, and distribution equipment, while collaborating on SCADA integrations and industry-standard practices. A PE license is preferred, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 10+ years post-degree experience delivering protective relaying projects at utility/industrial scale.
• PE license or ability to obtain one.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, engineering, and studies of protection systems for bulk power equipment.
• Develop protection philosophies, relay settings, and SCADA integration.
• Perform short-circuit, time-current coordination, and arc flash analyses.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead project teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE/ANSI/NERC PRC standards and client needs.
