Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Lead Professional, Electrical Engineer with a Protective Relaying emphasis for our Denver, CO office.

The successful candidate will design, engineer, and study protection systems for power equipment across substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, and industrial facilities. You will lead the ESSP team projects, mentor engineers, coordinate with vendors and field personnel, and ensure compliance with IEEE/ANSI/NERC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 7+ years of relevant post education experience in Protective Relaying for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Proven track record of workplace safety and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineering, and studies of protection systems for bulk power equipment.
• Lead teams on client projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Discuss project specifics with clients during occasional onsite data collection.
• Adhere to IEEE, ANSI, and NERC PRC standards and industry practices.
